In Sanliao, there are many puzzling ancient buildings, especially the “Zeng Sanfang snake temple”, which is the most typical. Of course, the biggest situation of Sanliao is dunben hall, which is called “gen Yinxiang of the unearthed centipede”, and Zeng’s snake shaped temple is one of the many claws of the unearthed centipede. This claw looks very much like the downhill snake shape called by the villagers. This temple is just built on the seven inch position of the spirit snake.
Snake shaped temple is one of the outstanding geomantic works of the ancient Ming masters. Built in Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty, this house is an existing relatively complete ancient building with the most geomantic characteristics in Sanliao village. It is one of the outstanding geomantic masterpieces of manually controlling houses at home and abroad.
It is said that this temple is the famous work of Liao Bing, a feng shui master of the Ming Dynasty. He designed a “snake shape down the mountain” with room defects into a vivid “golden snake hanging tree shape”. Through various subtle shapes of various buildings, it has successfully restrained the two rooms and protected and saved the four rooms, and its effectiveness is as good as God. It can be said that Yang Gong’s Feng Shui room division balancing technique is a “specimen”, It is a typical Feng Shui case of Liaoxi culture, which can be described as “restraining two rooms and saving four rooms, and the experience of form and method is amazing”.
The spirit snake in the lower ridge is seven inches safe, and sun Xian is in each house after the lower ridge. The Golden Snake hangs like a tree, and the shaper’s practice is unique.
“Snake shaped Temple”, namely Chengzhi hall, is located behind dunxu hall in Sanliao village. On the right side of Lanxi hall, Renlong enters the head and sets up Renshan C and noon needle. Chengzhi hall is a branch ancestral hall of Zeng’s three rooms, covering an area of more than 500 square meters. It was built in the late Ming Dynasty. Liao Bing, a feng shui master at that time (i.e. the wife and brother of the house owner), was hired to carry out site selection, layout and survey orientation.

The hall of Chengzhi hall is built in the shape of “Chang”, which is divided into upper and lower halls. The small patio in the middle is in a transverse shape. The ancestral hall is a civil structure with small scale. It is painted and beautiful.
The eaves gallery is 2.5 meters deep on the left and 2.2 meters deep on the right. There are three doors in the temple, with “filial piety door” on the left, “benevolence and righteousness door” on the right and “harmony door” in the middle. The entrance hall is a wooden archway, earth brick wall, hard mountain roof, and two wooden columns support the cornice of the house, which is far-reaching and long.
In front of the main gate of the ancestral hall, there is a half moon shaped Venus pool, about 2 meters deep. Several connected small bungalows are built on the left to protect the left sand. A fence is built at the junction with the bungalow, which extends to more than one meter outside the front of the Zhaoqiang wall to the right. There is a gatehouse at the end of the fence, and the sitting union faces C.
On the front of the ancestral hall, a screen wall is built on the edge of the pond in a chord arc, connected to the right wall. Standing in front of the lobby door, there is a picturesque arch of Bijia mountain in front. Behind the ancestral hall, there is a basaltic natural barrier. On the left, there are turtles and snakes blocking the water inlet. On the right, there are mountains and rivers, and the Dragon veins fluctuate like a golden snake. Stepping into the gate, the winding path looks like a python winding along the tall screen wall from the moon shaped pond. A long window is installed on the left and right sides of the ancestral hall as the eyes of the snake. Therefore, the snake shaped ancestral hall is also known as the “golden snake hanging tree”.
If the fourth brother is unjust, his mother quickly asks his eldest brother. There is a mystery in restraining two and saving four. Uncle Ming has a high means.
Chengzhi hall is arranged with the entrance of the gold bureau to collect the water of Geng Youdi, which was originally intended to prosper the second son. Why is there a situation of good four rooms and bad two rooms?
Fudong of Chengzhi hall was built by Zeng Hongshan, the 27th grandson of Duke Zeng Wenyun, and his wife with five sons. However, er Fang was savage, used to idleness, conceited and knew a little about feng shui. He thought that no matter how the house was built, it would be prosperous for me. During the construction, he proposed to give less money.
When the ancestral hall was built, the master of geomantic omen was the uncle of the son of the owner. When the sister asked about the four rooms, Liao Bing said that the ancestral hall had no four rooms. The sister was very anxious. She told her brother that I had five sons, and only the fourth was the most filial. If it was unfair to let him die because of the house, please do everything to save him. Because Sifang is the most filial and Erfang is the most disobedient. Out of public interest, in fact, Mr. Liao Bing is also considering how to poke the hostility of Erfang, save the interests of Sifang, control evil and promote good. Naturally, he agreed to his sister’s request and tried to restrain Erfang and save Sifang. Therefore, there are all kinds of strange layout. It is “Liaoxi Mingshi shows his magic power, and the layout is full of mystery”.
The layout of the house is aimed at the immoral second child, controlling the second child and helping the fourth room. There are many mysteries, which makes people feel incredible.
1、 The whole ancestral hall is Chang shaped. There is a horse Lane in the middle of the left and right. The left leads to the barn and the right to the kitchen. There are also wing rooms in the front, back, left and right. This design strengthens the fortunes of future generations. On the left side of the ancestral hall, there are four small wing rooms. Outside the courtyard wall on the left, there are seven ponds. It is said that this was set up to preserve the four rooms.
2、 Four pillars are set up in front of the ancestral hall, which is based on the pillars to determine the four directions and control the improper layout of the house above. The four corners of the ancestral hall and the corner of the kangua position at the rear left are unconventionally made into a 45 degree rounded corner. One corner of the front left corner is made very prominent. The depth of the left and right wing rooms of the ancestral hall is also asymmetric, narrow on the left and wide on the right, It makes the house extremely asymmetrical.
3、 There are two censers in the center of the hall, one high and one low. There is a censer on some shrines in front of the ancestral hall, and another censer is placed on the ground.
4、 There are three gates in the inner ancestral hall. Standing in front of the sacred platform, you can’t see the sky and the mountains in front.
5、 The whole ancestral hall is only 4 meters high, the front of the patio rain eaves is high and the back is low, and the Youping in front of the hall is narrow.
6、 On the patio, a hemp strip stone representing the orientation of the second room is several centimeters more prominent than the patio. Its position is designed to make the eaves water just drop on this stone.
7、 There is a half moon shaped pond in front of the ancestral hall, about two meters deep. The screen wall in front of the pond of the snake shaped ancestral hall has two earth shaped floors, high in the middle, low on both sides and high in the middle. The curved shape is surrounded by bricks and stones. This row of screen walls with different heights has the function of storing wind and gathering gas.
8、 On the right side of the ancestral hall, a pit (toilet) was built, which was the emperor Wang Fang of the Geng position of Yang Gong’s 12th eldest son. Originally, the ancestral hall was Huiwang second room, but now it is punishing the second room everywhere.
The above practices are used to make the second and save the fourth in Feng Shui layout.
If the prodigal son doesn’t change his gold, the second room will be saved by kneeling and sacrificing. After the ancestral hall was built, when she wanted to enter the incense, the second daughter-in-law inadvertently heard the bad remarks of the second room, so she left a heart and hurriedly asked her husband to sincerely repent to her mother and show filial piety to her parents from now on. Seeing his sincere repentance, his mother couldn’t bear to see him dead, so she asked his brother Liao Bing to come to remedy it.
In fact, the uncle had already kept his hand. Seeing that the second son was willing to correct his mistakes and turn around, the prodigal son asked him to put another censer under the sacred platform to worship his ancestors. As long as he didn’t stand to worship in the future and kneel at the censer, everything would be smooth.
Since then, the descendants of Erhang had to kneel down to sacrifice their ancestors. Therefore, incense continued and wealth was considerable, but the population was not prosperous in the end. Later, some people in the second room didn’t believe this. They also had to stand and worship their ancestors. On the contrary, they didn’t have a day to rise. It’s really strange!
Since then, the descendants of Erhang had to kneel down to sacrifice their ancestors. Therefore, incense continued and wealth was considerable, but the population was not prosperous in the end.
